Nature is wonderful. No-one knows how blue tits time the production of their single brood to coincide with the greatest abundance of juicy, nutritious caterpillars each year. But they do. If you kill all the caterpillars in your garden they'll have difficulty feeding their young. Then you'll have no tits to gorge themselves on your greenfly. Using chemicals to control pests in your garden is like throwing the baby out with the bath water! Because they might kill your foes, but it's murder for your friends. Most insecticides are indiscriminate and kill all insects, including voracious eaters of greenfly like lacewings and ladybirds that help keep your garden healthy and don't deserve an untimely death. In the same way, you can't have thrushes, hedgehogs, shrews, frogs and toads without slugs and snails, because they are part of their diet. So if you use blue slug pellets containing methocarb you will not only be depriving wildlife in your garden of vital food, but you risk indirectly poisoning the wonderful creatures which feed on these 'pests'. And the more friends you lose, the more your foes will thrive. In the Bliss & Blossom garden we never use chemicals and so we're aided by an army of friends who keep a healthy balance and are wonderful to watch and enjoy. And we're happy to know we're helping, not hindering mother nature.
So help out your fellow creatures by developing a natural cycle, not a vicious circle. Let Bliss & Blossom advise you on how to have a truly green garden.
